Vitamin C

If you have never heard of vitamin C you are definitely in the minority. The fact of the matter is that vitamin C may be the most common vitamin. Generally speaking, vitamin C is responsible for the overall repair and growth of the tissues in your body. When it comes down to it every type of vegetable and fruit offers some level of vitamin C. So eating them is probably the easiest way to get the amount of vitamin C that you need. As far as the fruits are concerned, the ones with the most vitamin C are the ones of the citrus variation; this includes oranges and strawberries. When it comes to vegetables look into green peppers and broccoli for vitamin C. And of course you probably know that orange juice is an excellent source of vitamin C.

 





Deficiency Problems

There are many problems that may arise from vitamin C deficiency. Most commonly, if you do not get enough vitamin C you will suffer from rough, dry skin as well as splitting hair. Some more serious problems may include anemia, bleeding of the gums, and nosebleeds.

You should never have to worry about not getting the proper amount of vitamin C. You can get what you need from a number of different food sources. And if this is not working for you, you can always take a supplement that includes vitamin C.

Vitamin C is one of the most common vitamins; and for good reason. Without vitamin C your body will never be able to grow and develop on schedule. Just make sure that you get the proper amount of vitamin C, and you should never run into any problems.
